Christmas Package Tags

With Christmas just around the corner I have begun to crank out Christmas crafts to make our holidays a little brighter.  Today I am sharing some VERY quick and VERY easy Christmas tags.
Do I even need to tell you that I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to create these tags?  Probably not, huh?  I have to say that Art Philosophy, in my opinion, is one of the all time best cricut cartridges!

In addition to Art Philosophy, I used the Close to my Heart stamp set, December 25.  I have used this stamp set on a number of projects already this fall and I still have seven and half weeks till Christmas!!   I am hoping to make all of our to/from package tags this year so this stamps set is a godsend!

The Happy Holidays tag above was cut in two parts.  I created little cards by welding two of the tag shapes together.  I stamped the tag tops in a dark color.  I then cut a second piece, the inner section of the tag.  I stamped the smaller, inner tag shape with CTMH red ink.  I then glued the red inner tag over the darker backgound tags.

My second tag is even easier.  I cut the circular tag card shape and a scalloped edge circle in red cardstock.  I then cut the smaller white circles.  I stamped the winter wishes stamp in red on the white circles.  The pieces were glued together and assorted ribbons were added.  I added I-Rock gems to the snowflakes just to bling the tags a bit.

Today I wanted to do a post showing off the November stamp of the month, Cherish the Day! This cartridge coordinates with the Art Philosophy cartridge (which is still available in the bundle for $99). Just like last month, this stamp set is only available in the month of November, it retails for $17.95, but if you spend $50 you get it for only $5!

When you place a minimum order of $25 in My Acrylix® stamp set November 1 - November 30th you can purchase a new D-size Holiday Wishes stamp set for only $5! That’s significant savings off the full retail value of $17.95 US / $19.95 CAN. And here’s a bonus: many of the images in the set coordinate with our Cricut® Art Philosophy cartridge for added cutting and stamping fun!

So to break it down,
-If you spend $50 you get the November stamp of the month (retails price of $17.95) for $5.
-If you spend $25 in stamps, you get the Holidays Wishes stamp set (retail price $17.95) for $5!
-These two offers can be combined. For example, if you spend $25 in stamps and an additional $25 on anything else in the catalog you will get both stamp sets for a total of $10 ($5 per set).

For those who still have not ordered the Art Philosophy set, I am sharing another view of the set.

Have a Ghostly Halloween

Happy Halloween!  It's not just Halloween, it's a Bitten by the Bug 2 Halloween!  My very talented Design Team sister Shelly (from Shelly's Card Blog) selected the perfect challenge cut for Halloween - a GHOST from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.  And so that we may share the ghoulish fun, this is our monthly blog hop Monday!  I am the first stop on the blog hop and from here you can trick or treat at each of the participating blogs for Blog Candy!

I used several different sized ghosts welded together to create a ghost mesh for my card front.  I welded the four ghosts at the top of the card to a rectangle which is the card back.  I cut a couple of the small ghosts as unwelded individuals so that I could "pop" them on the front of the card.

Using A Child's Year cartridge, I cut three welded trick or treater three times.  I layered the cuts with pop dots and attached them over top of the ghostly mesh.  A rectangle of Halloween orange stamped with stars was glued behind the ghosts.   I finished the card by adding Spooky BOO ribbon to the bottom of the card.

Trick or Treat Layout

With Halloween coming up next week I decided to share a little Trick or Treats scrapbooking inspiration with you today.  I wish that I had taken more photos of my own children and their trick or treat adventures, though I did photograph them in their costumes. But I do regret the lack of Halloween photos with my children interacting with their friends.

This two page layout was created using CTMH's Art Philosophy cartridge and Close to my Heart stamps.  I know I have mentioned this before, but I love adding stamps to my layouts!   I used two charcoal grey 11.5 x 11.5 inch squares of cardstock as backgrounds, framed by 12 x 12 sheets of Kraft cardstock.  Using Close to my Heart Halloween print cardstock, I cut the large tag shaped backgrounds.

I cut two rectangles in Kraft cardstock to used as a large mat.  I also cut the small orange mats with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I used a CTMH small star stamp to stamp a design onto the Kraft cardstock, and then I put a dot of black Stickles in the center of each star.

The large stars were also cut with Art Philosophy and stamped with CTMH star stamps.  I added a black pearl to the center of each larger star.  Also worthy of noting in the photos above and below, I used the edge of the large print background tag as a guide for my journaling.

The font used on the layout is also from Art Philosophy.  I added a few black pearls and some dots of black Stickles to the letters.   Best of all, this layout was so easy and is something that anyone can make with just the basic Art Philosophy cartridge set.  For details on the Close to my Heart Art Philosophy set and the Stamp of the Month set, please see below.

A Damask Decor Pumpkin Card

This is a card that I have been planning to make for quite some time.  I first spied this awesome pumpkin cut on the Damask Decor cartridge last spring and I just knew I had to use this cut to create a fall themed card.  And what a wait it has been!  There is a basic two layer Damask pumpkin cut and a four layer pumpkin without the Damask flourish on this cartridge.  I decided to merge the two pumpkin cuts for my card.

I used the basic Damask cut for the background - cream cardstock on rusty orange cardstock.  I then cut three of the four individual pumpkin layers and applied them over top of the cream pumpkin cut.

The three layered pumpkin was cut in a solid pumpkin color (bottom layer), a green print layer (middle layer - the stem and leaves show at the top), and a white and orange print (top layer).  I thought the pumpkin still needed something so I used pumpkin color smoochies on the orange cardstock on the bottom layer.  I painted smoochies around the edges and inside the cuts on the front.

I finished the card with a brown ribbon behind the pumpkin and a second brown ribbon tied to the stem, and a smoochie painted tag.  I cut the tag with George and Basic Shapes.  I then painted it with two colors of smoochies.... pumpkin and bronze.  I used two Close to my Heart stamps, the word cherish and the star, on the tag.  I added white doodles to the tag and the damask layer.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I will be back tomorrow to share a CLOSE TO MY HEART stamp and Art Philosophy project.  And the blog is going to change focus for the rest of the week and sneak in a few Christmas projects - since it will be here before we know it!!
