Patching up the Khan’s is not Katrina’s responsibility!

Patching up the Khan’s is not Katrina’s responsibility!

It’s a known fact that Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan are inseparable and are like the best buddies in the industry. Well, Katrina and Shahrukh Khan are also good friends. Now the question is, can this beauty turn the foe Khans to friends???

Kats will be seen with Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan, in two separate films. Now that she would have to work closely with both the Khan’s, her fans are expecting a little too much from her. Well, let’s see what Kats has to say about it…

“They both are my co-stars for different films and at the end of the day we go to our respective houses. It (their enmity) does not have any impact on me. And I am glad that I am working with two senior…respected professionals in the industry. I think they can handle whatever their equation is between them. I am not common between the two,” Katrina said in an interview.

When the actress was asked if she would like to see the two patch up, she said, “It is hardly my place. I don’t think it is my responsibility.”

Sigh! We wonder who can help the two foes turn friends!!!

SRK and Salman manage to avoid each other on 9-hour flight

On Saturday, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan flew back on the same flight from London to Mumbai. SRK was in UK for the last couple of days on some work and Salman had gone there to promote his latest film, London Dreams.

While Salman was with his younger brother Sohail, SRK was by himself. When the Khan brothers walked in, Sohail (who, along with wife Seema, is on good terms with SRK and Gauri) went up to Shah Rukh, they chatted for sometime after which he went and joined his brother.

This was the third in the series of the jab-they-met encounters. The first time they were at the same place at the same time post their infamous feud was last year at Amrita Arora's sangeet ceremony. The second was this year at Ramesh Taurani's wedding anniversary bash. Other than that, the two actors have been going to great lengths to avoid bumping into each other. So what happened when they came face-to-face with each other?

Says an eyewitness, "Both Shah Rukh and Salman boarded the flight without the slightest knowledge that both were going to share nine hours of airspace together! Shah Rukh saw Sallu first. He appeared stunned, then he quietly went to his seat and sat down."

Both were seated a few seats away from each other but Salman was talking loudly and making sure that his dushman could overhear everything he was saying. Sallu was apparently in great spirits and kept behaving like a naughty child, reveals the source, "He kept pulling the airhostess's legs and behaving as if he was ready to go and brawl it out with the other Khan."

After some reading, SRK went off to sleep. He didn't wake up for his meal. He woke up only when it was time to land. Throughout the flight, it was obvious Shah Rukh had decided to completely ignore Salman while he was itching for a fight. When Sallu saw SRK wasn't reacting to his verbal salvos, he too went off to sleep."

While deplaning, Sohail and SRK bid goodbye to each other. Salman and Shah Rukh (who had walked ahead) again didn't even look at each other. At the luggage unloading section, the two actors stood at two corners, picked up their respective luggage and strode off in two opposite directions as if they couldn't wait to get away from each other. Though the airline sources confirmed that both Salman and Shah Rukh were on the same flight on Saturday they were tight-lipped about divulging further details on grounds of client confidentiality.

Shah Rukh and Salman remained unavailable for comment.

B'day Special: Rare Childhood Photos of Shahrukh Khan

Bebo is SRK's leading lady

Looks like the sultry Kareena Kapoor has beaten Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai in their race to SRK's home production. Not that I doubted her ever anyway.

Shah Rukh Khan's next home production Ra 1 has been the talk of the town for ever now. Last I heard the four lovely ladies Kat, Priyanka, Ash and Bebo were all being considered for the role. But a little birdie tells me that eventually Kareena has been selected for the female lead in the Rs 25 crore plus mega project.

Trust Juicy Mausi to find out these little details. Apparently Red Chillies Entertainment have already approached Kareena for this role.

The film which is supposed to be a sci-fi extravaganza is apparently full of high voltage stunts and a lot of adventure. Shah Rukh will himself be playing the lead character of a superhero. And to match him who could be better than the original size zero Kareena right?

SRK plays father to a teenager in two of his upcoming films

Shah Rukh Khan plays the father of a teenager in Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan. He is also playing dad to a grown-up child in Anubhav Sinha's Ra1.

When most top actors shy away from playing papas of big kids, SRK feels it is okay for him to be shown as the father of a strapping young lad. For most stars, toddlers or perhaps five-six year olds are okay if they have to play daddy figures.

It is reliably learnt that the actor had no qualms about having a grown-up child when he was told about it. It was not a matter of concern for his screen persona, nor did he discuss the reasons behind the need to be shown with a teenaged offspring.

So what?

Confirms Karan, "Yes, Shah Rukh is playing father to a teenager in MNIK. It was never an issue for either Shah Rukh or me. But then why should it be? His son Aryan is almost 11. In my first film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, when Shah Rukh was 30, he played a college student! Actors should not worry about these things. I don't think they should allow these aspects to interfere in accepting roles based on such things."

MNIK has Shah Rukh essay the character of Rizwan Khan who is suspected to be a terrorist after authorities mistake his disability for 'suspicious' behaviour post 9/11. His co-star Kajol plays Mandira, a Hindu single mother who Rizwan falls in love with.

The film's cast and crew recently returned from a schedule in the US. The next and final stint of shooting will be in Mumbai in September.

Arjun Rampal to pool in for KKR

Their friendship in no secret, and Arjun Rampal would have it no other way. Even though SRK’s IPL team aren’t the best performers, Arjun’s loyalty to his friend and the team won’t shift.

When asked if he would ever have his own cricket team, he says that if one day King Khan decides to sell a stake of the team, he will make sure to buy it.

While you and I might raise our eyebrows in question, Rampal insists he likes the team.

SRK planning to sell of IPL team

Shah Rukh Khan is contemplating selling off his Indian Premier League team Knight Riders. This is what a famous business magazine is claiming. SRK had dropped “Kolkata’ from his team’s name just before the IPL season 2 began.

http://sachiniti.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/srk-snap.jpg

According to the magazine’s reports there are speculations that SRK is in talks with three big companies to take over his entire shareholding in the Knight Riders team. These names are said to be – Cell giant Nokia (SRK is their brand ambassador and they are also his team’s sponsors), Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group and Sahara group. It can be recalled that the King Khan had purchased the Kolkata franchise for a whopping Rs. 300 crore last year.

Now if he sells it he can at least make a cool profit of Rs. 100-150 crore. The magazine further claims that earlier SRK was just interested in selling a part of its stake but all those whom he approached also wanted management control which lead him to the three names mentioned above to sell his entire shareholding.

SRK has been quiet unlucky in the last season as well as the present on going one where his team is dipping right to the bottom of the chart. So may be it is that or may be he has realized owning a cricket team is not as easy as owning a production house. -Sampurn Media

Shahrukh stepping Into Aamir's Shoes

As fate has it, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan are in the news again. The superstars are not at each other especially after bonding big time over the Cinema multiplex-producers crisis but it seems Shahrukh has been tempted to step into Aamir's shoes.

http://www.bollywoodz.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/aamir-srk.jpg

The news is doing the rounds that Shahrukh is going to replace Aamir in a new film by Reema Kagtis. It is said that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had a fall-out with Aamir over terms of the film, as Aamir demanded a whopping fee and certain percentage of the profit. The fall-out happened on the sets of 3 Idiots where Ritesh had come to finalise the deal. He left the sets disappointed, as he couldn't buy the terms and conditions laid down by the actor.

It may be recalled that Farhan, Ritesh and Aamir were like family and their film Dil Chahta Hai was a huge hit. Now, it looks like their relationship will be affected by this turn out. Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed that they were supposed to work with Aamir but had fallen out over his unacceptable demands. However, he refused to confirm if Shahrukh is replacing Aamir. He said that they would announce very soon if Shahrukh is in the film.

On the other hand, sources close to Aamir claimed that the actor never works for money or friends. It added that he turned down the offer as he didn't like the script.

Well, nobody can hide the truth. Keep a watch on this space!

SRK chosen over Akki to perform at big fat Indian Wedding

Shah Rukh Khan has arrived back in India from South Africa and he has lot of things on his agenda. Most importantly he is back just in time for the voting day in Mumbai which falls on April 30th.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX8-ZfHwfUC9N_Sw2mTVIrrpaEWxpnQR7Yhb7E__18NcHInwNbRKvWnywrEDHYBpHuC1Q4R5k_A1rox2Lz-Tau60jrjVo1cvIXnvlu8zBdgnH3zVjo79_LAVUU7zFLQE-O7u-1NkE_DXsM/s320/akki1.jpg

He is also planning to host a big bash for Hollywood star Gerald Butler of the film 300 fame but that apart he is here to perform at a big fat Indian wedding ceremony taking place in Mumbai at the Kamla Mills Compound on Thursday April 30th evening. It is learnt that it was Akshay Kumar whom the organisers had approached first but when the Khiladi Kumar quoted an astronomical price, the organisers roped in the King Khan who came cheaper. This wedding is of famous builder Kanti Govani’s nephew. SRK’s performance has been termed as The King Khan Nite. The next day that is on May 1st it will be music director Pritam Nite followed by Hollywood stuntmen performances including a huge explosion. The actual wedding shall take place on Sunday May 3rd morning.

Sources reveal, “SRK has been dancing at weddings and earning big moolah for years now and he has non apologetic about it. His price is reportedly around Rs 3-4 crore for such performances. This time, he shall be performing with three of Bollywood’s top heroines. Though the names haven’t been confirmed, there is strong buzz that Rani Mukherjee, Bipasha Basu and Celina Jaitley are scheduled to perform along side SRK. Akki had earlier danced for the wedding of Kanti Govani’s son and had made a entry that time on a horse back. Salman Khan too had performed that time and was reportedly gifted a sports car for his act.”

Well it seems the stars have various options forever ready to kill the recession blues. -Sampurn Media

Shahrukh’s Mobile Number Out In Public

How will fans react when a superstar makes his mobile number public? Obviously, they will spin in to a dialing frenzy! Somthing similar happened recently, when UAE telecommunication provider du released an advertisement that listed Indian superstar Shahrukh Khan’s mobile number alongside endorsement of a product brand.

http://www.10ka20.com/img/shahrukh-khan-1.jpg

Three other celebrities from the Arab world are also endorsing the campaign. More than 8,000 calls with over 1,000 personal voice messages were recorded for the four celebrities, including Khan, du said in a statement.

However, it was not clear whether the campaign including all the four celebrities ran on the same day. Du said, “The number of calls almost went up 200 per cent on the second day itself”.

While several fans and movie buffs expressed disbelief and questioned the validity of the number, du said the number was genuine and not a marketing gimmick. For those who dialed the number, a taped message in Khan’s voice greeted then in Hindi that “Hi this is Shahrukh Khan. I can not take your call right now. Please leave your message and love”.

Three other celebrities from the Arab entertainment world, the creator of the animated housewives series Freej, Mohammed Saeed Hareb, leading jewelery designer Azza Al Qubaisi and famous Lebanese TV presenter George Kurdahi, are also part of the ad campaign.

Shahrukh and Aamir in Coke ad

Even though they are in regular war of words and have no plans of doing films together Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan could soon be seen together endorsing Coca Cola. Pepsi had recently dumped Shahrukh after a decade long association as it thought SRK being at the wrong side of 40 did not appeal to the youth. In its last 'Youngistan' campaign SRK was given a small role as compared to that of love birds Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

http://l.yimg.com/t/movies/AP/20090408/10/AP090407013763.jpg

Shahrukh however isn't the star to sit home and look for an endorsement deal. Pepsi's biggest rival Coca Cola saw this as a huge opportunity and pounced on King Khan. Shahrukh even roped in Kolkata Knight Riders's star Saurav Ganguly and his team to endorse Sprite which is a Coke product. Aamir on has been associated with Coke for quite some time. Now the Cola giant has plans to cast both Aamir and Shahrukh in the same commercial.

SRK's Googly upsets Fans

Mumbai: Not a knight in shining armour for Bengalis, Shah Rukh Khan drops Kolkata from Kolkata Knight Riders. 'Will he call it Khan's Knight Riders next,' asks fan

Their IPL campaign has not yet kicked off, but the Kolkata Knight Riders have managed to kick up a storm with team owner Shah Rukh Khan's decision to take off Kolkata from the team's merchandise as well as company name.

http://www.desihits.com/assets/images/shahrukh-khan-ipl-album-4083.jpg

Add to that the decision to remove Sourav Ganguly as captain of the team, and you have all the necessary ingredients to make the Bengali blood boil. Speaking to Sunday MiD DAY on Saturday, Joy Bhattacharya, the team director explained, "The only reason why Kolkata was removed from the T-shirt is because it was small and looked dirty.

"All our press releases say Kolkata Knight Riders. As a team we are known as Kolkata Knight Riders. Knight Riders is the company's name." Bhattacharya also stressed that it is an IPL rule to have the city name in the team.

When asked whether it was not a rule to have the full name on the T-shirts, he said, "No, there is no such rule."

Such explanations have not gone down well with angry Kolkatans. SRK had already invited the wrath of the city after Sourav's removal as captain.

Says Ivy Roy, head, Business Development, Maharashtra: "When every region or city has its identity clearly etched, why is Kolkata losing out? This team is representing Kolkata; the name is not Shah Rukh Khan's personal property. This is a regional contest, like the European League, where the regional name should have priority. If he has been influenced by some numerologist, let him change the latter part of the name."

On the matter of the numerologist, it's a story floated by Sanjay B Jumaani. Jumaani claims that Shah Rukh has taken heed of his quotes to the Kolkata-based publication, Anandabazar Patrika. In that, Jumaani had asked SRK to drop Kolkata and change Sourav's jersey number from 8 to 24.

Shah Rukh Khan explains his reasoning: "My team is still called Kolkata Knight Riders. My company which owns the team is called Knight Riders Private Ltd, because the company is not just about the team but will play a much bigger role. I am very proud of Kolkata and had decided to move to Kolkata for the entire duration of the IPL and travel everywhere with the team, before the venue was shifted to South Africa."

Others across the country are fuming nevertheless. Says merchant navy Captain Sanjoy Sen, who lives in Kolkata: "My friends and I are planning to boycott all SRK's films. After all, his talk of his dear Kolkata Knight Riders and all his public bonhomie with Dada, is this any way to behave? I am not a Sourav fan but I am a proud Bengali who hates the fact that India's most successful test captain is demoted and then the name of the city is wiped out."

Bangalorean Arundhati Ghosh however, is more amused than angry. The Deputy Director of Indian Foundation for Arts says, "I can understand owners trying to improve a team's performance by working on issues like fitness. But how will changing the name help the team? Shah Rukh Khan has destroyed the identity of the team.
The other teams (except Bangalore) have kept their names intact, though some of them also fared poorly last season. SRK should think about that."

Agrees Sanchali Chakraborty, senior manager of a market research firm in New Delhi: "SRK is messing about with the concept of IPL. After all the love he declared for Kolkata, is this is the best he can do?"

Restaurateur Anjan Chatterjee has another take on the matter. He says, "Shah Rukh Khan is a suave marketing guy who knows what he is doing. All this makes me wonder — is this all a publicity gimmick? His decision will result in protests in Kolkata, then maybe he will go there and apologise. The drama and controversy will draw more attention to his team. And then, who knows? Perhaps he will retract his decision and all will be well again? At least I fervently hope so."

Well, Kolkatans will certainly hope this is the case. But if Jumaani is to be believed, numerology is the key to everything, and the name will stay without Kolkata. For Sumanto Chattopadhyay, executive creative director, Ogilvy South Asia, this reasoning is all wrong. "IPL is all about city-based rivalry in a format unique to Indian sports. For Shah Rukh Khan to break that chain is really surprising. I want to know what made him do such a thing? If it has anything to do with numerology, then it is ridiculous," he says.

Kolkata-based homemaker Aloka Guha sums up the sentiment of Kolkatans and Bengalis around the country when she says, "Oh bad, SRK, very bad. Whatever will he do next call it Khan's Knight Riders?"

Shahrukh to search for a starlet

Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty will be among those watching all the women attending the Indian Professional League games in South Africa over the next five weeks to find the newest Bollywood starlet.

http://www.freewebs.com/kanwal_16/shahrukh108.jpg

The Indian Professional League has announced a Bollywood movie role for one lucky South African lass as it prepares to launch the five-week Twenty20 extravaganza here on Saturday with an inaugural double header.

The search for a young South African woman with the potential to take Bollywood by storm was announced in Cape Town on Thursday by IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi and Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta, all having stakes in the IPL teams.

The lucky South African IPL fan with star quality stands to win a role in a Bollywood movie, 50,000 rands in cash, a business class trip to India and other prizes in the 2009 tournament's Miss Bollywood SA competition.

"We're looking for someone who has the star quality to stand out in a crowd, probably without even trying that hard. It's that special, almost indefinable, quality that makes someone a star more than a beauty queen that we are looking for," Modi said.

"IPL matches with their mix of fun and excitement are an excellent environment to identify the kind of person who is a natural stand-out in a big crowd."

"Star searches like this are a really great way to find people who may never even have thought that they have what it takes to really make it big," Shah Rukh said.

"The heart of our idea is to search the crowd at IPL matches for someone who has the attitude and appearance that automatically draws the eye. It will be the kind of person who is not necessarily showing off for the camera, but who can mesmerise even total strangers," he said.

A total of 50 winners will be chosen from the crowds at every one of the eight venues around the country that are to host IPL matches. Winners will be shown on the big screen at every match during the second five-minute break.

There will be one finalist per match, identified with the help of TV producers who will have cameras scanning the crowds. IPL matches are being played in Cape Town, East London, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Johannesburg and Pretoria.

One finalist from each venue will be chosen, leaving eight winners to be hosted and feted at The Wanderers in Johannesburg at the final of the IPL 2009 tournament on 24 May. The ultimate winner will be announced during the final.

IPL fans worldwide will also be able to cast their votes for the winner via the IPL website.

The IPL is also set to announce an eight-million rand educational project in Cape Town on Friday.

SRK braves the sun for his team

Shahrukh Khan is not called the King Khan by all just like that. He may be amongst our nation’s biggest superstars but when it comes to sheer hard work he doesn’t like to shrink away opting for better comforts.

http://bollywood.celebden.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/Shah%20Rukh%20Khan.jpg

A source reveals, “There is sweltering heat in Mumbai but that couldn’t stop him from shooting his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders' music video out in the sun at Filmcity, Mumbai. The sun was literally burning the skin and there was no shade in picture there. In the scorching sun, without any complaints, Shahrukh shot his music video with his team members at the helipad area under choreographer cum director Farah Khan.

It is learnt that this music video was first planned to be shot at his team’s conditioning camp at Kolkata but since IPL 2’s venue was shifted to South Africa, the whole concept of the video was changed. The song will be the same ‘Too hot Too cool’ with some minor changes to it. No new song has been recorded this year. The music video will now also have an African feel to it with slight changes to the music.”

Our source further reveals, “Shahrukh plans to leave for South Africa on Tuesday April 14th for the inaugural ceremony which is going to take place on April 17th. Though he won’t stay their throughout the tournament, he will make two big visits staying there for longer periods.”

When Aamir-SRK came Together

Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan came together on the same platform to raise the issue of the tiff between the film producers and multiplexes over revenue sharing. And both advocated a partnership of equality.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh74K5JI3yN8pggQUukhZSHU3W0MNYtIYWurHt3P5_-zIp-qrHQKOCZEmBP9OiUJ1KvxddpEK1e09JpXY_RzKwv65578UbsoA4H_iyWfJ1_UxC6pr2RxZvoyhrqWbK9AY6197YVTeyaiooD/s400/Aamir_SRK.jpg

"It should be a partnership of equality. Fifty percent sharing is fair. Distributors and exhibitors have to find a way to make it a viable business within their fifty percent. Within my fifty percent I have to make it profitable," said Aamir at a press conference here.

"This is one industry and we all can survive only when each sector will earn a healthy share. We are here to find a solution to this," added Aamir.

Apart from Aamir, industry veterans like Ronnie Screwvala, Mukesh Bhatt and Karan Johar were present, among others.

Shah Rukh Khan, however, stressed that the press meet should not be seen as a "power show".

"This is not a power show. We haven't gathered here to threaten multiplexes. It's a show of coming together," said Shah Rukh who also felt that there should be equal sharing of revenue.

"We are here for fair rights for Friday nights," he asserted.

The tiff between the producers and multiplexes started early February. And after several failed discussions, the producers decided to go on strike. From April 4 they have stopped giving release rights of new big-budget movies.

No Rules for SRK: Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor may be just two films old, but she is choosy about her roles and has drafted strict guidelines for herself to sign movies.

http://img1.chakpak.com/se_images/15200_-1_564_none/sonam-kapoor-wallpaper.jpg

The young actress is, however, willing to make exceptions if the man opposite her happens to be Robert De Niro or Shah Rukh Khan.

"Well, why would one actually ask questions if paired opposite Robert De Niro?" asks Sonam with a mischievous smile. "You should consider yourself plain fortunate to just share a common frame with him. In fact, I will be happy to even walk past a frame featuring him. No questions asked. Period."

Sonam teamed up with Ranbir Kapoor in her debut vehicle "Saawariya" and she was seen with Abhishek Bachchan in her second film "Dilli 6". She is now looking forward to a movie with superstar Shah Rukh.

"He is another man for whom I will be so very willing to ignore my rule book. I would be more than happy to go ahead and sign a film if Shah Rukh happens to be my hero," says Sonam, a self-confessed Shah Rukh fan.

"There are exceptions that one makes about the size and content of the role when it comes to working with legendary actors; De Niro and Shah Rukh just fit the bill," she said.

However, when it comes to working on films with anyone lesser, Sonam certainly has her do's and don'ts in place.

"I don't intend to do films where all I am required to do is to dance in four songs and enact a couple of emotional scenes. By no means am I looking at that kind of cinema," she said.

Though the formal announcement of her next film is yet to take place, reports are that Sonam's next will be for her dad's production house. The film is called "Ayesha" and is based on Jane Austen's novel "Emma".

According to industry sources, Sonam will be making a complete about turn from her "Saawariya" and "Delhi 6" image and take on a completely new ultra-chic avtar. The film will feature Abhay Deol along with newcomer Arunodoy Singh, who will soon make his debut with "Sikandar".

Sonam and Imran Khan are meanwhile reportedly being considered by Kunal Kohli for his next film that would be directed by his assistant Danish Aslam. However, confirmation is still awaited around this young love story.
