My Saturday At Everyday Cricut - Lazy Summer Days

Happy Saturday everyone.  It is the third Saturday of the month and that means it is my day to share a project at Everyday Cricut.  I have a summertime project that is colorful and fun, made from the Cindy Loo cartridge.

I also have a cut file to share, Lazy Summer Days, located in the list of downloadable cut file in the left column of of this blog. The layout requires only two cartridges, Plantin Schoolbook and as stated above, Cindy Loo.

If you have not already been by Everday Cricut today you may want to do so now.  There are more photos of the layout and the chance to win some great products if you leave a comment.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Saturday!!

Easter Cards - Two From One

Have you been by Custom Crops yet this week to check out this week's new articles and projects?  There is a whole lot of Easter going on at CC!  And of course I contributed to the Easter Fest.  Using Cricut Design Studio I designed one cut file that creates two great cards!  The first card is my sad, sad attempt at humor and the second offers the opportunity for Easter stamping.

The first card features two chocolate bunnies in conversation.  Sadly the bunny on the right cannot hear as well as he used to.... Someone bit off his ear!!   This silly card sports several techniques:  the front is framed in a welded border frame, the bunnies are elevated using pop dots, and the voice balloons use the mini gel pen adaptor in the Cricut to write the words, then finally the balloons were cut after replacing the Cricut's housing blade.

The inside of the card has a large balloon with the Happy Easter phrase and a background of printed paper also cut with the Cricut.

The second card had a scalloped background, two chocolate bunnies and is trimmed with a ribbon and bow.  The inside of the card is blank so that you can customize the card according to your preference.  I used this cute Easter stamp set and pink Stampin' Up ink.

You will find the cut file and complete instructions for these cards at Custom Crops.  Follow the blinkie on the upper left side of my blog to go directly to my page at Custom Crops.

If you have not already done so, please leave a comment under the previous post, BBTB2, so that you can be including in the drawing for a $20.00 certificate from SCRAP YOUR TRIP!!

New Project with Cut File and Assembly Instructions

Custom Crops posted this weeks new project/articles last Monday and this was my contribution:  Bridal Shower Ohh La La Gift Card Holder.   Not being a fan of lingerie bridal showers, I created this cute gift card holder to allow the bride a bit of modesty as well as the opportunity to select her own unmentionables.

This cut file was created entirely with the new Forever Young cartridge.  I used Basic Grey paper as well as Core'dination cardstock.  I especially like that the flowers work as the closure on the card.  For full instructions and the cut file follow the blinkie on my blog (or click on the project title in the previous paragraph) to visit my page at Custom Crops.  And don't forget to shop for the necessary supplies and check out the sale while you are at the Custom Crops site.

Hello Kitty Cupcake Wraps with Cut File and Instructions

Have you been by Custom Crops this week?  They are having a sale, which started today AND, as they do every week, they released the designers' new projects last Monday.  I have new a Hello Kitty Cupcake Wrappers project, complete with the cut file and instructions.

The wrappers are much easier to make than you would imagine and they look adorable on the Wilton cupcake tower rack.  I also shared a great recipe for "from scratch" chocolate cupcakes.  And Kitty looks awesome holding pink frosted chocolate cupcakes!

Cooking Up Some Fun

Sorry for the delay but I am going to share another of my projects at Custom Crops this week. Is there a cookie exchange in your future???  I hosted a cookie exchange two weeks ago where we shared cookies and recipes.  I used the From My Kitchen cartridge and dressed my recipe up in this flip up oven door card.

I used the oven cut, stretched a bit wider than normal, and welded two oven doors to create the flip up recipe-oven-door.  The pdf'ed recipe fits perfectly in the flip up area.

Complete directions and the cut file, along with the recipe for my favorite Christmas cookie, are available at Custom Crops.  Click HERE for all for the everything you need to create your own oven recipe cards.

Another Cupcake Wrapper - to Enhance Your Holiday Buffet

I know, I know - I'm late!!  It is Tuesday and I did not post my new Custom Crops project yesterday.   I had one new project this week, Poinsettia Cupcake Wrappers.

I am going to be honest and tell you that this is my favorite cupcake wrapper to date.  They are cut with Plantin Schoolbook and Winter Woodland.... And are just SOOO festive.  I am picturing the top layer of my triple layer server filled with poinsettia wrapped cupcakes!!!  The cut file and complete instructions are available at Custom Crops - just follow the blinkie at the left to my articles at CC.  As a bonus, the cupcake and frosting recipes were also included...... And they are SUPER YUMMIE!!

By the way, today is Pink Tuesday at Custom Crops.  Pink Tuesday is CC's answer to Black Friday... Earlier and prettier!! Be sure to do a little shopping while you are checking out the new projects.

And finally, I wanted to share a photo of the flowers I received today from my husband for our anniversary.  Aren't they beautiful?  He knows I love pink roses.... But not as much as I love him!!!!

Autumn Apples

I think fall may be my favorite of the seasons. It follows those hot days of summer with cool breezes and a beautifully colorful display of leaves. It proceeds those bitter cold days of winter and trudging through the snow (can you tell I grew up in Michigan?). Ironically here in South Carolina we rarely have bitten cold days or snow through which to trudge. But… I think this love of fall goes back to growing up in Michigan and viewing fall as the in-between days. Fall days were filled with trips to the apple orchard where fresh cider was being made, fall festivals with clam chowders and pumpkins, apple pies and piles of colorful leaves.

In the spirit of my childhood days in Michigan I made this card, Autumn Apples. The card features a basket and apples from the Doodlecharms cartridge. You will only need two cartridges to make this card, Doodlecharms and Plantin Schoolbook. The cut file contains five pages, the first being a preview only and should not be cut.

The cut file can be found in the list of free downloadable cut files on the left side of the blog page, down a bit. Click on the name of the file and follow the link to Media Fire.  You can then download the cut file to your Cricut projects for future use.

Happy Autumn Apples!

Projects with Cut Files

Have you been by Custom Crops this week? There were several new projects posted last Monday (the day of new article releases at CC), two of which were mine. I had a cute layout using Everyday Paper Dolls and Plantin, as well as a recipe folder and recipe cards using A Child's Year.

The recipe folder and cards are easy, but time consuming to cut and assemble. I made two dozen of the cards and as the folder does not hold nearly that number of cards, I will have recipe cards to go with the gift as well as leftover cards for my personal use.

The layout is just one of those fun layouts that I like to do. Sadly I no longer have little children to scrap onto this layout. I hope it keeps well because I am hopeful for grandchildren some day! I made both the aliens and the space kids in both genders, a boy and girl of each. The great thing about Paper Dolls is you can personalize so many aspects of the characters.

The cut files and complete instructions are available at Custom Crops. Just click on the Custom Crops blinkie to the left and you will see the project names under my bio.
