Birthday Scrapping and Trying a New Product

I had fun in my scraproom today.  In addition to working on a "to be revealed later" project, I also did some scrapping of the Birthday photos.  I used a new (to me) product on the scrap pages, Fabric Paper by Dear Lizzie and American Crafts.  It is fabric that is backed with an ultra-thin adhesive foam. The fabric paper cuts nicely with my paper trimmer, though I did not try it on the Cricut today.  Don't worry, I have more of the fabric paper and that will be my next experiment.

I purchased my fabric paper at Taylored Expressions.  I used two sheets of the 12 x 12 inch fabric paper, removing the middle section with the trimmer (and saving it for later - I am thinking cute cards!).  I also purchased a package of the 6 x 6 inch fabric paper and plan to use it on some cards.

I used Base Camp and Storybook cartridges to complete my layout.  I cut the phrase Happy 50th Birthday with Base Camp and attached the letters to the flag banner at the top of the fabric paper. I then cut a two layer tag using Storybook where I matted the computer printed journaling.  My friend Kathy gives me grief for not journaling often enough so I am working to mend my ways!

I cut an extra tag set and affixed it under the edge of one of the HUGE-I-FIED Prima flowers.  The other Prima flower is on the left page, afloat on a field of flowers.  I used three lazer cut pink flowers from my stash of long ago purchased die cuts.  Between die cuts and alphabets that I no longer purchase, I should be saving money... Well, except for those new cartridges!!

I have to say that I quite like the Dear Lizzy Fabric Paper and look forward to using more.  I am not sure where else you can purchase the fabric paper, but I plan to "google" it and find out if there are other patterns.

Kareena Kapoor declines having her TV show offer

As per tabloid reports, Bollywood
actress Kareena Kapoor, who was approached by a TV channel to star in her very own show on the small screen titled ‘Main Kareena Kapoor Banna Chahti Hoon’, has declined the offer citing previous work commitments.

Reportedly, to get Bebo’s nod, channel producers offered her a very lucrative deal, but the actress firmly yet politely declined the offer.

"Honestly, between films and endorsements, there is absolutely no time for television,” revealed busy bee Bebo in an interview.

"I will consider television perhaps after a year-and-a-half or two. I have been offered a television show in the past, too. But I haven’t bitten the bait because my film career is rocking."

If she had accepted the show, she was required to travel nationwide to meet Bollywood aspirants’ from the various parts of India.

Kareena’s schedule for 2010
Kareena’s work schedule for 2010 is quite busy since she has just recently started shooting for Shah Rukh Khan’s ambitious film project ‘RA-1’ and shooting of Karan Johar’s Hindi remake of ‘Stepmom’ is still going on.

Then there’s ‘Golmaal 3’ shooting, ‘Agent Vinod’ with Saif Ali Khan, a still-to-be-titled film by ‘Fashion’ director Madhur Bhandarkar, and some endorsement deals.

“Television is an option that I definitely find exciting, but I would much rather concentrate on one thing now. So it is films for the moment,” said the actress, who declined to be on TV.

Easter Cards - Two From One

Have you been by Custom Crops yet this week to check out this week's new articles and projects?  There is a whole lot of Easter going on at CC!  And of course I contributed to the Easter Fest.  Using Cricut Design Studio I designed one cut file that creates two great cards!  The first card is my sad, sad attempt at humor and the second offers the opportunity for Easter stamping.

The first card features two chocolate bunnies in conversation.  Sadly the bunny on the right cannot hear as well as he used to.... Someone bit off his ear!!   This silly card sports several techniques:  the front is framed in a welded border frame, the bunnies are elevated using pop dots, and the voice balloons use the mini gel pen adaptor in the Cricut to write the words, then finally the balloons were cut after replacing the Cricut's housing blade.

The inside of the card has a large balloon with the Happy Easter phrase and a background of printed paper also cut with the Cricut.

The second card had a scalloped background, two chocolate bunnies and is trimmed with a ribbon and bow.  The inside of the card is blank so that you can customize the card according to your preference.  I used this cute Easter stamp set and pink Stampin' Up ink.

You will find the cut file and complete instructions for these cards at Custom Crops.  Follow the blinkie on the upper left side of my blog to go directly to my page at Custom Crops.

If you have not already done so, please leave a comment under the previous post, BBTB2, so that you can be including in the drawing for a $20.00 certificate from SCRAP YOUR TRIP!!

Paisley Purse Cut, BBTB2 Blog Hop, and Special Blog Candy

Happy Monday and welcome to the BBTB2 Monthly Blog Hop!  If you are following the blog hop you probably arrived here from Carole's blog (isn't she a sweetie??).  I will keep you for just a few minutes, then you can be on your way.  This week the Design Team was challenged to use any one of the three purses on the PAISLEY cartridge in our projects.  I chose the cut apple front purse, then I substituted cherries, also on Paisley, for the apples.

I used the fabulous Fashionista paper by Graphic 45, a line I have LOVED, to create my card.  The card front features bright cherries POPPED out on a frame of oval nesties.  At the bottom edge of the card I used a border punch on yellow cardstock to create a edge trim.  At the top of the front section I added a yellow bow with a Prima flower trimmed with tiny cherries.

The surprise factor in my card is the opening design; I welded a front piece to the shadow back of the purse to create a flip down opening.  Inside I used more of the Fashionista cherry paper as well as a smooth cream cardstock on which to write my message.  The smooth cardstock is embellished with cherries.  The image below shows the card fully opened.

I mentioned in the title that I have special Blog Candy this week.  One of my favorite scrap e-stores, SCRAP YOUR TRIP, is sponsing my blog hope this month and has given me a $20.00 gift certificate to give away!!!  How awesome is that?  Scrap Your Trip is owned by Julie Swatek, a lovely woman "My Friend Kathy" and I met a few years ago at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Charlotte. Julie is so nice and her store has just the greatest selection of travel, sports, music, military, etc., etc. scrapping products.  All you have to do is leave a comment in the comment section below to be included in the drawing for the gift certificate.  I will select a random winner on Thursday.

After you register for my blog candy I know you will want to hop along to the next BBTB2 site.  Your next stop is at the blog of Krista.  Krista is such a sweet woman with amazing talent I just know she will have something wonderful to share!!!  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your hopping!

Heidi Montag will

With the hills, which are introduced into a field and shooting, Heidi Montag is looking forward to her career as an actress in "start full picture of the movement of time."

Write In fact, a script for the launch. I'm not even kidding. People across: One of the characters wants to play Sunday "is a lifeguard in the summer on a script he wrote himself called."

I have the first 3-D on the beach in a comedy shark attack on a small beach town and save the day with my 3-D tits, "said Monday." I also wrote an article for Dolly Parton to the Mayor to play! Let me clarify this point: all this time, Heidi Montag utmost secrecy, the writer of our generation? Jesus Christ.

Who saw that coming? James Cameron is likely to escape this area of Avatar 2, as we speak. "Well, I remember they were all crazy shit on the planet with the sick?" This time, the area monitored by 3D breasts Heidi Montag. They give me money now. "
