Preity Zinta To Start her chat showon Channel UTV Stars

After giving up on cricketers for the chat show, the bubbly actress Preity Zinta has now decided to go ahead with her chat show that will have an array of Bollywood stars. The show titled 'Up Close & Personal With PZ' is to be aired on the to-be-launched channel 'UTV Stars'.



And featuring as the show's first guest is none other than Preity's good friend Akshay Kumar, who despite having a choc-a-bloc schedule, made time to be on the show. Reports have it that Preity asked him some personal questions too on the show. Needless to say, Akki was a complete sport when it came to answering those. "Just finished the first day of shooting 4 my show! It was so nice 2 chat with Akki! Full marks 2 him 4 being so amazing & humble," tweeted Preity.

Ever since the Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia split became public, Preity has been linked with a variety of men.


From the much-married hotelier Vikram Chatwal, to another co-owner of an IPL team to even her team Kings XI Pinjab’s captain Yuvraj Singh, her name has been linked with a different man every few days.

Now there are rumours that Preity is seeing Aussie bowler Brett Lee, who anyway is known to have a great liking for most things Indian.

“I am single,” says Preity Zinta, in reply to all the speculation about her love life.

She has denied dating anyone right now.

She has also clarified one more report.

After the news of her breakup with Ness had come out, it was said Preity had sent an email to her team members saying that even though she and Ness have parted ways they continue to be together professionally as co-owners of Kings XI Punjab and that their relationship was now cordial.

Preity now says she had not sent out any such email and that she does not even know the email id’s of her players.

Preity confirms Break up with Ness Wadia

After weeks of denials and confusions, Preity Zinta has finally admitted that she is single.

The Kal Ho Naa Ho girl declared her breakp with industrialist Ness Wadia, who co-owns the Kings XI Punjab IPL team along with Preity.

Preity started dating Ness Wadia, the heir to the Bombay Dyeing business, in 2005, and the two have always attended events and parties together.

Ever since rumours of her single status started doing the rounds, Preity has been linked to a number of people, including members of her IPL team Brett Lee and Yuvraj Singh.

Preity has however clarified that while she and Ness have broken up, she is not seeing anyone else at the moment.

She has also stressed that just because she and Ness aren't a couple any more doesn't mean that there will be drastic changes in the ownership patterns of their IPL team, because she believes in keeping her personal life and her professional life miles apart.

Preity said that she makes it a point never to date actors or directors since they will have direct consequences on her private and public life. She said that ever since she bought the team, cricketers have been added to her list of men she will not date.

Ash, Preity's booty shake at Mallya's Bash

India might have not had an official entry at the Cannes Film Festival this year, but that is not deterring the businessmen of the country from living it up there!

While the Hinduja brothers throw a bash every year for their friends abroad, this time beer baron Vijay Mallya is throwing his own bash on May 16 at his villa Le Grand Jardin on Sainte-Marguerite. While the Hinduja party is expected to be a sedate affair, Mallya's would be typically boisterous. The invites have already gone to around 300 guests, which include political dignitaries from the Indian and French government. The Indian ambassador in France, Ranjan Mathai is one of the chief guests along with Sushma Singh of the I&B Ministry.

The theme of the party is 'Bollywood' and all the Bollywood dignitaries in Cannes are expected to be present at this party.

According to sources, the DJ has been asked to play a range of film tracks - from Bollywood oldies to Slumdog Millionaire. AR Rahman is expected to attend the party too. Mallya is working closely with the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) and they have promised to get Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan or Preity Zinta to attend the party. Anil Kapoor is also expected to attend the party.

It is said that Aishwarya along with hubby Abhishek already flew to Cannes on Tuesday early morning. Ash and Preity are expected to be present at the Cannes festival to promote their respective beauty and jewellery brands.

Neha Dhupia: IPL like a chick flick

Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty may be watching the IPL matches live, but Neha Dhupia too is following them fervently back home.

Neha says, “I have always been a big sports fan and have been to several cricket matches, but IPL is so much fun. There are cricketers, filmstars and cheerleaders adding so much glamour to the game. It’s like an entertaining chick flick.When the matches are on, I am glued to the TV screen. Infact if I get a call, I lie and tell them that I am busy in a meeting.” Other Bollywood beauties better watch out, Neha might step into the glam arena and give them tough competition.

Preity and Neil to feature in a timepiece ad

It is not only films where young actors are being paired opposite older actresses. After working in films with Rimii Sen and Bipasha Basu, Neil is now teaming up with an actress older than him for an ad film.

He is endorsing an Italian luxury watch with Preity Zinta. The actress shot for the ad two days before leaving for the IPL in South Africa.

Says a source from the brand, "Neil was the only option for this ad because of his international looks.

His stubble gives him a rugged look, which is what the client was looking for. And Priety was selected for her strong presence in the international market and for her sophistication."

Genelia outsmarts Rani and Preity

Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta are getting old. Unlike smart cookie Aishwarya who’s still getting the best of films, these two have restricted themselves to different roles (of course because of a lack of offers).

It’s worse for ‘once upon a time queen of hearts’ Rani Mukherjee who made the major mistake of confining herself to the Yash Raj camp and has hardly any good role to talk about. Except of course about her dear Aditya Chopra's films.

The cute and petite Genelia has ad makers fighting it out for her. She is endorsing products that our ‘A-league’ Bollywood actresses once used to endorse. This includes Rani and Preity. Genelia is now the face of brands like Vatika hair oil and Fair and Lovely. After replacing Rani in the Fanta commercial, Genelia has now replaced Bollywood’s bubbly Zinta in the Cadbury Perk commercial.

Genie baby is clearly a young face and is great in-demand. Rani and Preity and the ilk have a lot to worry about.

Preity Zinta looks beyond Commercial Success

Commercial success is always welcome. But Preity Zinta has now reached a point in her acting career where she longs for more than that.In an industry where growth is equated with box office success, Preity has set a new parameter for herself. She is looking out for roles that help her in personal growth and she claims her role in Deepa Mehta’s film Videsh was one such.

“I had reached the stage in my career where I felt I was stagnating. Of course, the commercial hits were raining and it was great but somewhere inside me I felt 'where is my growth'?" the actress is quoted by a news agency.

Having had her share of commercial hits in the early part of her career, Preity is now aiming at films that would remain etched in people’s memory.

“Today with commercial hits people remember you for a year or two but when I am old or dead what are the films that I will be known for? I want to have a body of work that inspires the actor inside me and helps me grow in my craft,” the actress added.

Preity has already worked in offbeat films like The Last Lear , ‘Videsh’ or Heaven on Earth and Har Pall .

Directed by Deepa Mehta , ‘Videsh’ has Preity playing a Punjabi housewife who overcomes the trauma of an abusive marriage through her spirituality and imagination.

The film hits the theatres this Friday.

Deepa rains praises on Preity Zinta

Deepa Mehta is Ready with her new outing Heaven On Earth, which has been dubbed in Hindi for the Indian audiences. The Hindi version is called Videsh. A lot many people are under the impression that the film is filmed in English and dubbed in Hindi and Punjabi languages for the Indian market.

"It's filmed in Punjabi, not English. I let the subject material decide the language of that film. Videsh is about a Punjabi family living in Canada and I couldn't think of making it in any other language," Deepa clarifies.

A lot of filmmakers feel that the film loses its original flavour when dubbed in other languages. "I agree," Deepa says, "But if the director is present all through the dubbing session, supervising every bit of it, it doesn't lose the flavour. I was present for every actor's dubbing, when we decided to dub the film in Hindi. The dubbed version is equally amazing."

Everyone's talking of preity zinta and newcomer Vansh Bharadwaj's powerful performances in the film. "Preity has delivered a world class performance. She's electrifying. What I like about her is that she's so well prepared when she walks on the sets. Vansh is equally dynamic. I took the decision of casting him in a split second and when I look back, I am glad I took the right decision. He's an incredible talent," Deepa states.

Deepa and Aamir Khan worked together in Earth, but never got back after this film. "That's because I couldn't find the right subject. Aamir is a great actor and I really enjoyed working with him. I liked him in Ghajini, he was terrific. But there has to be a story that excites both of us," she adds.
