Yes, Even More Vegas Layouts

I am still scrapping away on the Vegas/Grand Canyon trip.  I am not sure if I am even halfway finished yet.  I did order close to 300 photos for the digital photos.  What was I thinking????  Oh yes, that my memory is failing and my scrapbooks will capture my memories for me.

I only had enough photos of the New York, New York casino to justify a single page layout.  Fortunately MFK reminded me that I had this map and I WOULD want to scrap the map.  Great idea Kathy!  Plus it gave me a matching page.

I used Destinations cartridge for the Statue of Liberty cut on the NY, NY page.  I am soooo please that I purchased that cartridge. It has a lot of useful cuts.

The Welcome to Las Vegas cut is from SCRAP YOUR TRIP, one of my favorite online scrap stores.  Julie always has the best custom made die cuts and the best papers for any travel of special interest.

The Vegas Strip - Assorted Sights - Quick & Easy Layout

Guess who is back to scrapping Vegas?  Oh yeah - MFK (my friend Kathy) and I have a zillion photos still to scrap. For this layout I gathered a selection of photos that I wanted to include in my scrapbook but I did not want to do a complete layout around each photo.  The obvious solution?  The Strip!  I used the Destinations cartridge and the "The Strip" cut as a title.

On the left page of the layout I included photos of my husband and MFK's husband admiring the lady on the Treasure Island ship, the MGM lion, the Hard Rock Cafe's signature guitar, and Harrah's.  I embellished with Jolee's.

On the above layout I included photos of the husbands standing under the hugified stripper woman (disclaimer we DID NOT go into the strip bar, we just photographed them with the woman while we waited to be seated at our show - the FAB FOUR - next door), the Eiffel Tower by day, and the front of the Paris Casino.  And again I used Jolee's to embellish.

As the title set says, I promised a Quick & Easy layout.  The paper I used was ordered from Scrap Your Trip.  Julie carries a huge selection of paper and embellies with which to scrap a trip to almost anywhere.  The paper you see above is the backside of the paper I used for the layout.  I took an extra sheet of the paper and made to angle cuts and used the "Only in Vegas" side of the paper as a decorative element on my pages.  After affixing the large angle cuts to the pages I just had to mat my photos on red cardstock, cut my title and embellish with my Jolee's.  This truly was a super quick and very easy layout.

It Was Totally Grand!

This is the first of my Grand Canyon layouts - there will be many more.  No matter how large I print the photos, I just cannot do justice to the Canyon experience.  The photo on the left page was printed as an 8 x 10 and I used it full size.  The top photo on the right was printed as a 5 x 7 and again, I did not trim the photo.  The Grand Canyon was so completely.... GRAND.... and that is difficult to document.

The left page contains only two Cricut cuts, the GRAND CANYON frame from Destinations and a photo mat.  The GC frame is supposed to have a canyon cut in the middle section, but I used Design Studio and resized the frame to hold my 8 x 10 photograph.  This photograph was taken by "My Friend Kathy" as dh and I took in the AWESOME view.

The right page contains only one Cricut cut - I saved the negative cut from the middle of the left page frame and used it as a background mat on the right page.  Recycle, reduce, REUSE!  The cute little Bucket List was a purchased die cut from Scrap Your Trip, but I created one for My Friend Kathy's layout using the Destinations cartridge.  And speaking of MFKathy, she had the BRILLIANT idea to use the large background matting as a pocket to hold the brochures!!  How BRILLIANT is that?  I was VERY impressed and I am convinced that idea sharing is one of the big benefits of group scrapping!  Especially when your friends are as amazing scrappers as my friends!!!

Are you getting tired of my Vegas trip layouts?  I have more to share but I do not want to bore you.

Vegas From Above

This layout represents one of my favorite evenings while we were in Las Vegas.  We attended the Fab Four Show at the V Theater then we visited the Paris Casino and went up the Eiffel Tower.  I loved the view from the top.  The lights of The Strip looked wonderful.

We viewed the fountains at the Bellagio from above, then from ground level (which was MUCH more spectacular).  And finally we went inside and viewed the Bellagio gardens. The gardens were almost as amazing as the fountains.

I used the hot air balloon, the Arc, and the wine bottle/glass cuts from Summer in Paris on this layout.  I honestly do not remember right this second if the Paris cut came from SIP or from Destinations.  As you can see I saved my Eiffel Tower tickets - I have dh convinced that we must save all tickets, tags, brochures, etc.

Please remember to become a follower of my sister blog, Busy with the Cricky Cake and you will go into the drawing for a $25 Custom Crops Gift Voucher.  I will be back tomorrow with my first Grand Canyon layout.

Las Vegas Paris Casino Layout

I spent Friday - Sunday at my friends Sally's and Beth's lake house enjoying a scrapping weekend get away.  "My Friend Kathy" (MFK) and I began working on our Las Vegas scrapbooks.  I managed to nearly complete 11 double page spreads (22 pages) as well as work on my BBTB2 project.  I thought it was a wonderfully productive weekend.

The first layout I am sharing is the Paris Casino.  I really liked the decor and of course the Eiffel Tower provided for fabulous evening photos of the strip. I conviced MFK to use the same cuts on her Paris page.

I used two cartridges to complete this layout, Destinations and Summer in Paris, both of which were delivered to my hotel in Vegas by Terri of TerriKrafts.  I cannot say enough kind words about Terri!!!  Who else provides Casino delivery service for free???

I used the shadow cut of Summer in Paris' Eiffel tower to create a layered back ground on the left page.  I cut the detailed tower for the right page.

I am just amazed at how many cuts I will be able to use from Destinations for this one trip.  Destinations turned out to be a great investment.

In case you do not know, I have blog candy going on our sister blog, Busy with the Cricky CakeSign up as a follower of the Cake blog and you will go into a drawing for a $25 gift voucher from Custom Crops.  Also if you have baked any of our May Cake of the Week recipes you are also elegible for a second $25 gift voucher.  Just leave a link or send an email about the COTW you baked.   The link to the cake blog is in the top left column.
